Tablet not powering on

About a week ago, my tablet randomly shut off. The adapter for it didn't have a light on when plugged in but once unplugged, the light turned on. Naturally, I thought it was the adapter's fault. nope. Got a new one and still the same problem. Is my tablet dead? Is there a fix for this? Please help
