Concern about GM's response to airbag deployment

Hello fellow canyon lovers. I was not sure where else to reach out to, and I'm hoping that this can point me in the right direction. I was involved in a collision September 13th, that took the front passenger wheel off the axel. While I understand the insurance company has a threshold they need to meet in order to write off a vehicle, I don't think repairing this for $25,000CAD is financially sound on a two year lease that's going to cause my more problems down the road.

But during this time, I received an Onstar diagnostic that the airbag sensors needed to be checked. The collision center my vehicle is sitting at did not include reviewing any of the sensors in their estimate. And after asking about them, they just added it to the estimate without actually checking into anything.

I contacted GM myself, and they took 2 weeks to respond to me and asked for photos of the accident. I got a call a week and a half later that the decision they made was based off of the photos I sent. Nobody contacted the collision center to confirm diagnostic information about the airbags.

I am concerned that an accident that took the wheel off the axel, coming into direct contact with a metal guard rail post, that according to the sensors should have deployed airbags, has not even been fully looked into by the company that made the vehicle.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction? This is beyond frustrating.

(RIP to my beautiful dream truck, that I was able to lease on my own in the middle of a divorce, and now I get to be vehicleless while I move across the country)
