Abyssalite melter, from concept to survival
A couple of days ago u/WhatsLigmaPrecious posted a couple of very cool abyssalite melter-concept builds, and with a very late game colony and tons of insulite to spare i felt inspired to try on this one in survival.
No sandbox or debug shenanigans here, there was some save scumming though, especially to fine tune the settings. One of the most tricky parts was getting the right amounts of hydrogen and oxygen over the vents, and for the glass vent that worked as planned with corner deconstructing and a slow initial glass flow, but for the water vent i needed some extra liquid locks and other fixes, which is why those two are not the prescribed mass ;) Then with some priming it was good to go, and started producing, but there were some random quirks with the uranium displacing to the left. With 4,5k cycles i got used to sometimes a bit laggy play, but the critical part with the uranium needed some adjustments from the concept to make it work for me, mainly lowering the temp of the cooling below it, so when my game had one of its hiccups the formed tungsten wouldnt remelt. Also i hugely underestimated the cooling needs, figuring i could get away with less filled, but at-cooled hydrogen chambers, basically making a carbon copy of the concept, but i soon realised i needed turbines, and to have the conduction panel over the mini pump connected to the loop, with some extra bridges to the hydrogen chamber next to it.
It has been running smoothly now for over 70 cycles, so time to start thinking about how to use this heat to close the glass-rockgas loop instead of having the debris just collecting in a (weirdly low temperature) pile :D
the ribbon bridge is just for heat transfer

Big thanks to u/WhatsLigmaPrecious for coming up with this cool concept, and also helping me understand the final quirky failures and how to prevent them :D
