Loud popping/explosive/gunshot noises??

Is there any common tree or plant variation that’s almost everywhere that makes really loud popping sound like a seed or something?

Recently visited a couple abandon and “haunted” areas and each time I visit to these places, the explosion sound comes once or twice and it’s pretty loud. Never heard these sounds before or never really notice it till recent times. For the past 40 mins, I’ve heard it 10 times now around my block area and I don’t live on a high floor. Am I being paranoid or is there really a common plant cause I’m losing my shit🥹
