Freezes at 100% downloading for the first time

Hi all, I recently reinstalled project sekai from the google play store after not playing for a long while. I am currently on a 2019 Xiaomi Mi 9T and have an issue with freezing once the app reaches 100% downloaded.

irresponsibleDownloading from Google Play store is fine, when I open the app it seems to connect to Google Play and everything moves through smoothly until it asks to download the extra 200+ mb. Once it reaches 100% downloaded the game freezes and no longer responds. The image carousel cannot be moved anymore and the reactive touch effects also don't come up, the music however keeps on playing. after 10 more minutes I tried restarting the app (hoping that it was fully downloaded). When I booted it up again it looked different as if it was booting into the game, then after a few seconds on the loading screen, it turned black and unresponsive. Music is still playing though. I have fully uninstalled the app and tried to download it again multiple times from the google play store but it does not seem to fix it.

Any help would be appreciated.
