Mpd218 troubleshooting?

My MPD218 randomly stopped responding. It gets power, responds to program select and what not, but won't do anything else. Plugged it into my laptop and the editor program isn't seeing it or talking to it. I ordered a new cable just in case but I'm wondering if anyone has any insight? Maybe an onboard setting that I'm missing? Apologies if this has already been answered, thanks in advance!
