Do you measure planned exercise in your TDEE calculation?
I currently only work out about 2x a week and have a full time blue-collar job. I’m planning on doing my first real diet and I’m just going to do the standard 500kcal cut. However I realized that the TDEE calculator to find out how much I should be eating asks how much I currently exercise. Now that I have more free time I will be working out 6x a week, which is 3 times more than I currently am.
My question is, if I calculate my current TDEE with my current rate of exercise, but then cut my calories by 500, then also triple my time in the gym, won’t the TDEE be inaccurate since I’m now burning through more energy week to week?
I’m not sure if I should put in that I workout 6x a week to balance out how much I plan on working out with the 500kcal cut, or if I should just put how much I currently work out AND take away 500 calorie from whatever my TDEE result is. This is a tough question to google because I’m not exactly sure how to ask it.
