Horror Films and trauma, just some thoughts

Not the right sub for this i guess, but just wanted to share some thoughts how horror films might've traumatized me (especially gory ones) but only thanks to them and by watching so many of them I've more or less learned to make my own little horror films, and just more or less learned filmmaking...so a little dilemma... does anyone else feel the same?
