Continue with my S20 Plus or S24 Ultra?
Hello everyone and TIA,
I am using my current S20 Plus since the day of release. It has a minor crack in the back but not noticable with a cover. Has a few scratches on the screen but not visible. It holds the battery at the end of the day to around 10 percent.
What I love about the phone are the following and these too would be what I would be looking for would be the following:
-
A great high resolution screen with good refresh rate. The S20 has an amazing display which I love. I need high res screens since I read a lot on my phone and consume media. I got a Pixel 8 from my provider and it doesn't even compare.
-
A large display. I cannot use a small display. It has to be large as reading books with my current preferred font size would lead to less words per line.
-
How light the phone is. I am still amazed how light the S20 Plus feels for its size.
-
Camera although is pretty bad now but its not unreasonable. Can still take decent enough photos but this is a major drawback presently.
-
Updates. These are only security patches for now and am now on One UI 5.1
-
It still runs all the apps smoothly. I never have issues with slowness or lag. However I would not realize much otherwise since this is the best phone I have used uptil now.
I was thinking of purchasing the S24 Ultra either now or after the S25 Ultra releases. This is because I never purchase the latest phone as the price to features ratio is hardly ever in the favour of the buyer. I feel like I have my selected phone list to the S24 Ultra for now. However I know there is a S24 Plus. I was wondering if you kind fellow Samsung enthusiasts would help me with the following queries:
-
Is the difference between S24 Ultra and S20 plus that much that its worth buying the phone? Keep in mind my above main points please as the basis.
-
What exactly am I missing out by not upgrading. I know for a fact camera is one and its very important to me but still on the fence.
-
What about S24 Plus? Is it a worthy upgrade?
I don't want to purchase the newest and latest since it depreciates quick especially with yearly upgrades nowadays.
And if you have any other thoughts to share please do let me know. Please and thank you all.
