What career jobs can I do without going to college? (Washington State)
I've been mulling over this topic for a little bit and have mostly been thinking of just doing a job that allows me to be self sufficient. I currently work at a vary busy Wendy's and frankly it's quite unenjoyable. I really want to have a job where I can just do my thing at a quality level without people breathing down my neck.
For example, if I'm on sandwiches I really enjoy taking the time to distribute the ingredients evenly and spread the sauce(s) nicely but doing it at that quality isn't the fastest and my managers don't like waiting the extra minute for me to do that. But I really enjoy putting that effort into my work because I value my quality even if it takes longer.
I bring that up because I have looked into a few options and while I do believe that a trade job would definitely be up my alley (HVAC/R, Electrical, [maybe]construction) my only issue is the longevity of my body's health. I've also looked into sales but if it's anything like I've seen my mother go through while she was a bank call taker (time limit on calls, quotas, poor management, customer satisfaction quotas, rude customers) I really don't know if I'd be satisfied despite the great pay. I've also looked into a cleaning service (honestly great pay) but I do have some sensory issues especially with smell.
Overall I'm prepared for the need to make sacrifices in order to survive. But I'm having a hard time finding a good paying job that I can live off of without a degree.
I appreciate your time and any feedback. I will do my best to respond in a timely manner but apologies if I'm not quick.
