RBC HISA limited time promotional offer

Investing

Starting by saying I have read some other posts on this topic, the consensus seems to be that it's not the best deal. Opening the account will yield 5.1% interest for 3 months and after that term, it'll drop down to 1.15%

But I'm thinking, could I open the account, dump ALL my chequing into it and take out that ~$11k out, with whatever interest would be on there, in 3 months time? No way it is that easy right?

Little about me: I'm slowly learning about investing and so far, I'm depositing into a long term TFSA. I just turned 24 and I don't have any role models in my life or financial backup so I kinda have to be smart about this. I understand that other banks are better than RBC, Tangerine for instance, is one I have been seeing named when it comes to similar accounts.

But, it would be a quick process for me to open this account because I'm with RBC.

Thanks for the info :)
