Is it right person wrong time or….

alright yall, I’m curious to what yalls opinions are on this:

I was dating someone at the end of the summer, and it was perfect. We spent a lot of time together, he was very affirming and so I trusted that this is something I saw getting serious.

THEN, his doctoral program started back up and his whole energy shifted. He still made time for me and we talked everyday, but I could feel him pulling back; anyways, around October he suggested that it’s better we’re friends because he knows he can’t foster a healthy relationship because of school and other things.

I understand this because I do think he genuinely liked me, it’s just not the best time — which he even said “I feel like it was right person, wrong time.”

I think we can be friends, but right now I’m taking some space to kind of adjust to things.

I guess what I’m asking here is do yall think things will eventually work out or should I just drop if completely?

I feel like I’m currently in a place where I’m open to new connections, but I also still care about him & trust that things will work out how they should in the end.
