ENDLESS Desert and mesa biomes

Am I doing something wrong, going the wrong direction or something? I have gone from pure desert, to mesa, to savanna, to mesa, to desert, to ruined city that I circled, to savanna, to desert... I've been going for more than an hour and all I found are biomes that make me overheat in a minute

On my earlier save I spawned in endless cold biomes, just snow, tundra, cold forest, ice spikes ocean etc.

Any solutions or is it just forcing me to "go on a journey" for a few hours till I find anything remotely liveable? Or should I just keep dying to re-roll?
