Sharon and the Ballad of the Witches Road
So I just finished the show and one thing kinda stood out for me after seeing the final few episodes. This could be a coincidence or even me just reading into something not there but I figured I'd see if anyone else notice.
So we see in a series of flashbacks that the Ballad of the Witches Road was originally written by Agatha and her son. The original version has "walk walk walk walk the witches road" but is then later changed to "down down down down the witches road." I looked up the lyrics and the walk part was completely removed in the version the witches sing at the beginning of the series.
Weird thing is though, in episode 2, after the coven saves Sharon/Mrs. Hart from wondering off the road and sinking into the mud she frustratingly asks Agatha how she is supposed to "walk walk walk walk" if there is nowhere to walk to. Its then that the road reveals the first trial house. When Sharon says that she says it in a sing-song like way similar to the ballad.
My question is how did she know the original lyrics? Is it a coincidence that she happened to use the former lyrics to the song? Or is this a hint at something else? I could see it going either way.
What do you think?
