Asus TUFF 3080 suddenly crashing unless in silent mode

I have a beefy PC. Corsair Plat HX1000, Gigabyte Aurus X670e Master, 96gb gskill trident Z5, Ryzen9 7950X3D.

Its been put together and only run with stock settings.

I started getting full crashes with no error logs so I verified my software and components until it pointed to the GPU. Temps are good 66c. The next thing I tried was to underclock the GPU and now its able to run (so far) without crashing.

I googled and i see some people have been experiencing this issue since release. But after reading countless threads I didn't see any resolution other than undervolting. Is there a fix for this or is it just bad luck?
