Increasing SRAM 2by gear range to 52 cassettes??!
Hey everyone, I have a SRAM Red eTap AXS 2x12-speed setup and I’m looking into options for expanding my cassette range. I’d love some guidance on the following:
-
Is there a way to use a rear derailleur that can handle a 10-52T cassette while staying compatible with my current Red eTap AXS shifters? • I’ve read that SRAM’s Eagle AXS derailleurs can handle 52T cassettes, but I’m not sure if they work with road AXS shifters.
-
Would a rear derailleur that can handle a 10-44T cassette work with my 2x setup? • I know SRAM has an XPLR derailleur that supports a 10-44T cassette, but it’s designed for 1x setups. Is there any way to make this work while staying 2x?

For a 2x setup, what’s the largest cassette size I can use? • Currently, I believe the max is 10-36T with my Red eTap AXS rear derailleur, but I’d like to confirm if there are any other options.
Thanks in advance for any insights!
