feeling weird after pelvic exam

Hi:) I want to start this off with the fact that because of my reproductive health issues the past 3+ years I have experienced a lot of uncomfortable medical procedures. I understand there are some weird situations we get put in when symptoms have to do with this area.

I have been dealing with endometriosis symptoms for about 7 years now. In this time I have mainly seen GI doctors because they all suspected my colon to be the source of the symptoms, but after having a baby in 2021 things got more serious. The past three years I’ve believed I may have endometriosis and have pushed really hard to be taken seriously as a very young looking 5’1 26F. Finally in October I got a referral to OBGYN after years of not seeing one. I understood it would be a male doctor because they are overbooked, I’ve had male OBGYN’s before and didn’t really mind.

This past Monday I had my appointment and was very relieved when the medical student & doctor both said they also believe I have endometriosis and want to get me diagnosed. I suspected we would talk about the condition in depth, maybe go over treatment etc but the doctor was heavily focused on my sex life. He wanted to do a full pelvic exam, I told him my pelvic floor physical therapist had done one 2 years ago to help me better understand my body. - she did do this and I consented she was my pelvic floor specialist so it made total sense. I also consented to his on Monday because I just wanted them to take me seriously for the endometriosis, but tbh I didn’t know why I need his hands feeling my trigger spots. I warned him I’m very tight and tense and feel pain from the smallest things. During the exam he started off by poking my clitoris with the swab and saying he’s testing the reflex, I personally don’t remember having this done before. Oh well. Then I feel his hand sort of brush against my butt cheek at some point with was weird bc it was kind of low and far from the area he’s examining. At one point a tight spot triggers me to the point of crying and I had to use a tissue. At the end he said he can feel so many trigger points in me. I was thankful he looked but also just not sure it was necessary?

We only talked about sex after and how I needed à vaginal wand, dilators, and the last thing he said was “our main goal is to make sure you can enjoy sex again”. We talked about endo for 2 min and sex for like 45min. Am I being taken seriously?
