Deduplication tool with ability to score/prioritize?

admin

I work with a number of small nonprofit organizations that are receiving new contacts from many sources (email list, donors, members, event registrations) and adding them to a large, old list of contacts. The result is large, dispiriting lists of duplicates. There are great tools to help identify and merge them, but I wonder if there are any that allow you to score/prioritize your duplicate sets. The most obvious way to do it would be straight up dollar value, but there are some other flags that might go into prioritization - board members, life members, key volunteers. I see great benefits to being able to sort these things by the most potential value:

  • you see the benefits/value of your deduping effort in real time (rather than getting bored after merging a few dozen low-value pairs and giving up, while a potential ill-will bomb waits deep on the list)
  • you can gamify the deduplication process, keeping score of the value of merged pairs
  • you can set effective goals in terms of overall unmerged duplicates
  • you can distinguish between high value potential duplicates that should receive more careful human attention, more comfortably set automatic merging loose on the lower-value pairs.

Are there any duplicate management tools that offer this kind of functionality? If only we could report on Salesforce duplicate groups, this would be straightforward.
