My love language is gift giving
I got broken up with around a month ago because long story short he valued Fortnite more than me. My love language is/was gift giving. I love going all out and buying gifts that I know will make anyone happy and I love getting gifts that had some thought put into them as I would feel like it had been reciprocated therefore I’d feel understood and loved back. Over the 2 years we were together I got him multiple pairs of high quality pants/jeans/shirts, AirPods for birthdays/Christmas and most notably a gold chain for his university graduation gift. Now, I’m not one to be picky about what exactly I get as gifts I just like the thought behind them. For my first birthday in this relationship I picked a store and then picked out my own (2 gifts) body wash and loofah. Christmas was great though I got a love note and a framed photo of us which I do still have and will continue to cherish. This second birthday I got a single Lego rose which I took to be a symbol of our lasting love (ik that sounds crazy and it is because he broke up with me 5 days after that) and a video that he made (slideshow of pictures of us) with a song in the background. Long story short I felt loved while I was in the relationship but looking back I was not completely understood even though I tried my best to communicate my love language. I know it is the tackiest thing to do in this situation but I need persuading to not ask for that damn chain back.
