Feeling stuck
Hey everyone. I’m a college student and I recently flew back to school after visiting my family for thanksgiving. I had a great time with them, and it honestly feels super depressing to be back, especially with finals in a week. I’m not a great student and I’ve struggled with mild substance abuse problems since my freshman year of college. I used to rip bongs and vape nicotine almost daily, but I started to cut back after my health was taking a toll. I still smoke weed almost everyday and I’ve started zynning to quit my vaping habit. This past week was the first time in a while I’ve been completely sober, mostly due to me being with my family. I didn’t have any cravings while I was with them, and it honestly felt like I was able to truly relax and forget about school and my anxiety with grades, internships, and my social life. I flew back last night and have been feeling what I can only describe as dread. I oddly have no urges to smoke weed or do nicotine but I still feel so mellow. It’s almost a trance like state where I’m unable to find any enjoyment in anything, from video games to scrolling on my phone and I’ve been mostly just laying in bed zoning out. I tried smoking weed to relax but the high felt so strange compared to before and I disliked it for the first time in my life. It didn’t make me paranoid or anxious or anything but I just felt so unfulfilled. I’m not sure what’s wrong with me, but I’ve been feeling super down all day and nothing is making me feel happy, apart from some conversations with my roommate.
