Suddenly very slow and cpu heavy on firefox?

Used to play fine but now on my linux system, trying to play pokerogue on firefox shoots my cpu to 100 and is very very slow, is this just a me problem or has anyone else gone through this, or know why it's happening? My internet connection seems good and I did turn off hardware acceleration to see if that fixed it, but didn't. Also cleared the cache and nothing.
