I'm stuck. Need to get rid of my wife, but killing her isn't an option. Any ideas?

So, I have found a more desirable mate than my current wife (one who has strong. I have strong. We will have many strong children!) I need to get rid of my wife. Here's the issue: I can't kill her. She has a county outside my realm. If I kill her, my 2 year old heir (who is also my wife's son) will inherit her county and leave my court, and I can't have that happening. The Pope is being a jerk and refusing to grant me a divorce.

I thought about just editing the save files. I definitely cheat by using an event code once in a while, but editing the save game file seems like too much of a cheat. (For an established game, anyway. I have no problem with save file editing on a brand new game. Weird, I know. Also, I'm not very good at save game editing and would probably break something.)

There doesn't seem to be an event code to force a divorce, so that's no good either. Anyone have any advice?
