Today Dec 9, 2024 SMC Labs added the CytoDyn MASH study Press Release and link from September 24, 2024 to their news list.

"CytoDyn Inc., which is our client, has announced the results of pharmacology study using a STAM™ mouse model. Resmetriom has been included in this pharmacology study, and its efficacy in treating fibrosis is directly compared with that of leronlimab."

Why did SMC put this up today which is over 2 months after the PR? I don't know.

We do know that SMC and CytoDyn have a followup MASH study going on right now.

  • Press release October 30, 2024 https://www.cytodyn.com/newsroom/press-releases/detail/630/cytodyn-appoints-dr-melissa-palmer-m-d-as-lead "In addition, the Company announced that following promising initial results from its preclinical study with SMC, it has commissioned the lab to conduct two follow-up studies to confirm and extend the observation of fibrosis reversal observed in the study concluded in September 2024. Both follow-up studies are underway, with results expected in early 2025."
  • One study uses the STAM mouse model again. The previous study with the STAM model ran just about 3 months. The current one seeks answers to fibrosis which on SMC's STAM model is evident 2 weeks after MASH. The timing of the current study is now approximately three weeks before fibrosis is evident in the model, so perhaps treatment there starts after then.
  • The study uses a different mouse model and if it is SRC's "CCl4-induced liver fibrosis model" which may get to the fibrosis disease state sooner, then the fibrosis may have been evident 2 weeks ago, and perhaps treatment in this study may have started weeks ago. It may conclude earlier than the other study.
  • Timelines of various models in a table at the bottom of this link https://www.smccro-lab.com/service/
