What are y’all’s thoughts on a Pokemon Pet store?

So, I got the idea when I was out with my aunt and mother, my aunt needed to go to a pet store to pick up some things for her dog, & while looking at the different animals, I had a thought of “what if something like this existed in the Pokémon universe?”

I personally have never really liked the idea of beginner trainers being tied down to only three choices for starters, when I played the Pokémon games, I almost never used them. With the exception of Pokémon heart gold because I like the Johto starters, fortunately, my sister had sold silver, so she would help me get all three starter Pokémon.

Plus it can be beneficial for the Pokemon too. What if for some reason it can’t survive in the wild on its own? What if it somehow wandered too far from it’s natural habitat? Or maybe a wider variety is simply bred in captivity?

What do you guys think of this idea?
