AITAH. My husband sprayed water on my dress after he said it was too tight and I refused to change it.

So, My husband and I were going to attend an engagement party. I wore a red, long, bodycon dress. My husband saw it and looked at me for an entire min and said "that's it? That's all you're wearing?" I was confused because (1) he'd already seen this dress before I purchased it (he has to see my dresses before I buy them so he could approve). so don't know why he was shocked. And (2) I seemed fitting to me, it wasn't like i was showing skin or wearing a short dress imo. He started arguing telling me it looks inappropriate to him and whatnot and told me to change into another dress (he suggested the green, loose, maxi dress but I've worn that a hundred times already). Long story short, we argued and I put my foot down and refused to change it.

He said he'd go wait for me outside in the car while I grabbed my stuff. As I was walking out, he grabbed the garden hose and started spraying the water al over my dress. I started yelling at him cussing him out and telling him to stop, but it was already too late cause the dress was soaking wet.

I immediately went back inside and took it off. He stood behind the door trying to justify himself saying I refused to take his opinions as my husband into consideration, and completely disregarded hix request. He said that as a couple we need to have consideration for what we where so we could "represent" our marriage in an appropriate way. I told him to stfu with his lecture and decided I was going to attend. He got upset and said that I'd make him look stupid if he showed up alone but I told him I wasn't going. He ended up not going. He called and apologized instead. And he's been saying it was my fault for missing the party and for dying on this "stupid" hill, and being stubborn instead of being cooperative.
