Shadowplay and microphone problem

When i record with shadowplay and have my Elgato wavefx selected as microphone scource but it doesn't work. But when i select my speakers as the scource it works for some reason but without the effects i put on my elgato mic. I could just use that one but i need the effects i put on there. Does anyone know what the problem might be?
