Can a doctors note be hsed to get me off a mandetory college meal plan? I am a first year student at a big university and have a mandetory unlimited meal plan. the food is disgusting and overpriced. It would be so much cheaper to eat out everyday. Before starting college, I was extremely underweight. I thought that by starting college, I would finally gain weight because of the unlimited food, but I actually lost a lot more weight. I am already so underweight that loosing weight is almost impossible. The fact that this happened in the coruse of a few months really shows how inedible the food is. I have been going to. bed hungry way to many days becuase the dorm food is not fueling me enough. Its making me not have the energy to study or walk to class. Lately I have been eating out because I would be dead if I didnt. The thing is I cant continue to afford eating out if I am paying for a meal plan. I asked the dietician to get me off the meal plan because its harming my body in so many ways. I was told that I cant. I also want to state that I am a muslim so I dont eat pork. This does not really effect anything as there isnt pork options that often, but muslims do have a month where we do not eat all day, just meal at night. this would mean I would not use the meal plan at all in the month. This wastes a lot of money of me having a meal plan. If I got a doctors note talking about how the dining halls are causing me to lose weight and that I would be better off cooking for myself? The reason I am asking this is because this week I litteraly starved myself so much. Today in fact they served almost nothing and had almost raw meat options. Thank you .
