P2000 Throttle increase travel

Is there a good way to increase the travel/throw on the p2000 throttle? I've fiddled with the black collar at the top, but that only appears to change the starting/ending position and not the distance between.

I'm used to my old csv3 pedals, which had a pretty long travel on the throttle.

I can back the collar off the threads on the piston but I'm afraid it will damage the hydraulics.

Do I just need to relearn my throttle inputs?
