Constantly addicted to procrastination and can’t seem to start working

🤔 NeedAdvice

I’m currently 22 and have been procrastinating my whole life. I lucked out during school and university and managed to get good grades even though I didn’t study a single day. I spent my three years at university getting high and drunk or just hanging out with my friends and girlfriend, i must have attended like four lectures in three years. Despite stressing to all hell during my exams because I didn’t study, I somehow made the same mistake again with my masters.

I’ve done my masters but part of my course requires me to pass external exams which are the equivalent of the Bar for Law in the US but in the UK. The first time I was meant to sit it, I didn’t do any studying at all, and I spent all my time watching anime, playing games, watching TikTok or hyper fixating on shows. I do this thing where I hyperfixate on some form of media like Star Wars or A Song of Ice and Fire or Marvel etc. and I’ll spend all my time reading and researching it non stop. I’ll watch all the shows, read all the books etc. just wasting all of my time.

Because I didn’t sit the first time I moved my exam date back for six months, and still didn’t do any work. I sat the exams six months ago and I failed because I didn’t do any work. I was close to the pass mark somehow but didn’t hit it. I’m sitting again and have only started studying a few days ago, realising I wasted the past six months but I’ll just have to see what happens. I feel like such a disappointment to my parents and to myself but I keep doing it.

How do I stop procrastinating? I’ve genuinely wasted the past year of my life being a degenerate on the internet achieving nothing. If I uninstall tiktok and everything i will just procrastinate and get obsessed with some form of media or fiction the moment I open the internet half the time. And if I don’t do that I’ll just masturbate because I can’t bring myself to start working. I’ve told myself that tomorrow will be the day I’ll be productive and do the things I need to do since 15, I’m 22 now and still haven’t managed.
