Password sometimes doesnt work

hey guys

i just got a new laptop yesterday and it came with Win11. So i'm dual booting with tumbleweed and kde. . Everything has been going well until today until it started not taking my password at login. I also have i3wm and awesomewm installed. So i just tried logging into i3 like i was using last night and all day today and the login manager tries to take my password. when it does it goes to a black screen then kicks me back out to the login manager again.

So finally when i tried to log into kde wayland the log in manager took my password and started kde wayland. I usually dont use a login manager i usually just use a tty and startx. So im a little baffled by this.

Anyone have any ideas? Im reluctant to log back out in fear the manager wont take my pass again.
