New laptop having wifi issues
I recently bought a new laptop that is miles ahead of my last one but im having a lot of issues when gaming.
I set all power options to max performance.
I did the max performance entry into powershell.
I went to device manager and set it to not be able to turn off the Wifi card to save power.
But I was wondering if there was anything I potentially missed bc Im still getting small drops when gaming, and my speed tests are coming in slow.
Theres some stuff in the device manager im not sure how to set for best performance.
802.11d ? enable or disable?
Bandwidth-Auto or 20?
Leisure power save- This was a big one for me bc all advice online says to disable, but my only options are Auto, high, and low and I dont know which one is the best one.
Preferred band- I do often game away from the router but I dont have a very large house, its down a small flight of steps and one room over. Straight shot im about 20/25 feet with a wall and a ceiling in between. I tried switching and running speed tests but the data seemed inconsistent so it didnt help me much.
I dont remember having to mess with anything with my old laptop, everything ran great wifi wise out of the box. But its also windows 10 vs 11 so I dont know.
Upon buying I did a fresh install, and updated the wifi drivers.
Any advice is appreciated bc its kind of annoying to get a new computer and have it function worse than one thats five years old.
