Should I have an endoscopy or cancel again?

So I get heartburn quite a bit and I would say for the past three years I’ve been getting heartburn and sometimes it’s really bad and other days it’s not so I’m assuming I have Gerd. now my question is is it really necessary for me to have an endoscopy because I am literally so scared to have one I have a lot of medical issues so I have reactions to things quite frequently so that’s part of the reason why I’m scared and I don’t know if I should cancel. I have canceled already three times in the past three years. So what exactly can they find with an endoscopy anyway if I do have Gerd they’ll just give me a PPI right?
