lost voice

hi, i’m not looking for medical advice just seeing if anybody has been thru the same and if this is normal. my baby who is 11wks old has been coughing since thursday and it has progressively gone worst. last night at 9pm he lost his voice and it’s still not back. we went to the ER yesterday and he tested negative for covid, flu &rsv but he didn’t lost his voice then . he lost it when we got home. I called our on call doc and since he is breathing fine and doesn’t have any temp , he said to just “wait it out” & schedule an appt this following week. He has on and off temp, like yesterday the reason we went to the er is bc he had a temp but when we got there he had regular temp . then this morning at 8am we took his temp again and he had a fever but thankfully tylenol took care of it. he also threw up 2x at 1am and again at 7am & 2pm. He does have GERD so this can be the reason why. i keep asking our doctor what to do but since he is breathing fine he doesn’t advice to go to the ER just yet.

It truly is true that the first sickness is the hardest. It truly breaks my heart seeing him like this, I can tell he would try to coo or “talk” but nothing comes out, instead he would cough. I hope to hear his voice soon
