Hey guys. I was just inspired to make this meme and post, because I was curious as to y'all's thoughts on the dynamic of somewhat shipping Emily with Abel.

I don't really care who people ship together. They're drawings on a page, so go wild or whatever.

But I just can't help but notice that a lot of the people in the fandom who were complaining about the ‘Issues’ of Adam x Emily/ SweetGuitar, are suddenly switching up now that Abels appearance has been shown.

DISCLAIMER: [I understand that some folks like what they like and don't need a reason to like what they like]

But it just seems weird to me that through all the fanart and stuff I've been seeing of Abel x Emily, carries the same aesthetic and vibe that Adam x Emily did…….except blonde.

If I was objective about it, I would say that it seems like a lot of folks are using Abel (who quite literally hasn't even made a in-show debut or showed any on-screen chemistry with any Heaven characters), as a fulfilment of the ‘Good’ parts of the SweetGuitar ship while removing the parts of Adam they dislike.

If I was subjective about it, I would say that they're coping due to their shame and dislike of SweetGuitar being their guilty pleasure, and relying on Abel as a safe horny soy ally crutch, so that they can pat themselves on the back and avoid any accusations that they enjoyed a ‘pro-ship’ that wasn't a pro-ship if you actually looked at it with a beyond 5th grade Tumblr migrant’s interpretation of ‘Chud Bad - White Knight Good’.

But that's neither here nor there. I was just curious to see others thoughts on the matter. Pardon my waffling, and I hope you have a good rest of your day.
