Why does it feel like everything is going wrong?
Potential TW - pregnancy and health anxiety
I’m 23 weeks pregnant with my second and also have a 5 year old. This pregnancy has been so anxiety inducing and it feels like so many things have been going wrong. I’m having a hard time just keeping my head above water.
First, had to get on thyroid meds because of a slightly higher than desired TSH level (3.1). Worries profusely about this given the apparent risk of neurological issues when mom has a high TSH?
Then, I was exposed to epoxy fumes from getting our garage floors done.
Finally, in the last month, my son has brought home COVID and immediately after recovering from that, now has the flu. I’m devastated. I managed to isolate myself and dodge getting COVID thankfully but the doc told me today that if I’ve been in close proximity with my son I’ll likely get the flu.
None of us got our flu shots and I’m seriously kicking myself for slacking on this.
I’m now sitting here upset and terrified that I’ll get the flu while pregnant.
Is it just me or is it feeling like nothing is going right in this pregnancy? How do other moms deal with their older kids’ illnesses when they are pregnant? I’m so stressed out 😢
