No playing endurance/can't hold interest enough to play a whole song

When I play I've noticed I'll get more and more sloppy until I barely play right when playing even a basic song or riff for even a minute or two. Another thing I've noticed is that playing a whole song is practically mentally exhausting to me and I can't fathom how people can do this for hours on end live. How do you guys deal with stuff like this?
