Putting front of rocker light switch back on

I'm less useful than an untrained monkey when it comes to this so bear with me. When I took the wall plate off to see the wiring for the fan switch, the front of the rocket switch came off. When I put it back on, the switch does not have the springiness and does not function. How do I re-attach it properly? https://imgur.com/a/2wJNgKN
