E46 Cruise Control retrofit

Hi everyone,
I own a 2001 BMW E46 325xi, which unfortunately doesn’t come with cruise control. I’d love to have it for those casual night drives where I take it easy, cruise slowly with a friend or two, and enjoy a good chat.

The good news is that my car already has the 'sports' steering wheel with buttons for cruise control, so adding the control button itself shouldn’t be an issue.

I’ve done some research online about retrofitting cruise control, but most of the information I found was quite vague. I was hoping someone here could shed some light on whether this retrofit is possible and what specific modules or parts I would need to get it done.
