Conditional approval with X gender marker on passport?

Questions/Concerns

I applied for GE a few months ago, got conditional approval very quickly, and planned to do an interview on arrival at MSP on my next international trip. After the election in November, I renewed my passport so I could update the gender marker from F to X, figuring I’d lose that ability within the next four years (my passport expired in early 2027 so I was renewing a couple years early). I had assumed that the passport renewal wouldn’t mess up my application—everything is exactly the same, just my gender marker and picture changed (and mostly I just look older and heavier in the new picture, haha). I planned (and still do) to bring my old passport that I applied for GE with me on my trip so I could show both at the interview.

Now that federal documents will only list M and F, obviously my passport can’t match my GE card. Am I screwed, here? Is this likely to result in my GE application being denied after the interview? Should I consider renewing my passport again to change the marker back to F?

I know no one really has any solid answers, but I’d really appreciate any guidance. I travel internationally in March.
