The Goalpost seems to always move
Disclaimer: I've been accepted into a program but have been experiencing internal worries/conflicts after so there's a chance this post can come off as insensitive. In which case I'm sorry. Or it's truly insensitive. In which case I'm very sorry.
I got into a program so far for Physics. I've been also told that I have a really good shot at another program that I applied to. So then it's one confirmed good news, one hinted at good news. But for some reason, I feel worried or like unsettled?
Like the programs I got into, I liked for many reasons - research, opportunities, funding (livable), location etc. But after these acceptances, I started instinctually coming up with things wrong with the programs - points that while I think hold truth (limited funding, not the clearest path to advance my career where I want to, is the research done too broad or too narrow(??? idek with this one)) are also points that I would roast my friends for getting hung up about and points 3-12 months ago me would've found silly. So now, the solution seems to be to look forward to and hope for the next batch of acceptances. But at the same time it seems like the same thing is going to happen lol. Hence dumb name with goalpost and whatnot.
