walking 10,000 steps a day is kinda hard

i know online, forums and such say its good to walk 10k a day…but i dont hear enough people say that its kinda hard..not hard to do, but im talking about in the aspect of daily life, its hard getting those steps in. it will be easy if you walk a track and such, but i dont have much time in the day, but i try to make little efforts to be on my feet and walk the distance. i walk on my breaks, workout on my lunch, walk to the furthest machines, go to a different bathroom on a different floor of my work building. but i still average about 4k-6k a day with these slight changes. so i just wanna hear anyone else’s experiences with getting 10k steps a day, passively. i’ve been car-less in an unwalkable city with poor public transportation. i’d walk and take 4 buses daily for work, and still average 6k-7k steps, and i personally was shocked because how much my feet would end up hurting, i assumed i walked a lot. but hey, has just been my experience! im curious to hear about yours!
