r/jamesjoyce Ulysses Read Along Schedule

Hello everyone and welcome to the 1st r/jamesjoyce read along! Based on poll voting we are going to be stepping into Ulysses. We are going to take this at a manageable pace. It appears we have a lot of first timers wanting to get in and with Joyce’s depth, we can get off on tangents.

The schedule is going to be episode by episode, this way if we need to veer off track, we will! We welcome any feedback and will try to suit everyone's needs.  Give feedback along the way so we can speed it up or slow it down.

We have many scholars and many newcomers that want to learn about Joyce. There is only 1 rule to this:

BE KIND, UNDERSTANDING, AND FAIR TO EVERYONE.

We are working on picking at edition that is easily accessible and cheap. Once we decide that, we will post pages for each week below.

Episode 1: (I will post pages and line limits as soon as my copy arrives)

Week 1: Introductions to James Joyce - Feb 1st

Week 2: Introductions to Ulysses - Feb 8th

Week 3: Above The Tower - Feb 15th

Week 4: Furina’s Deeper Dive Above The Tower - Feb 22nd

Week 5: In The Tower - Mar 1st

Week 6: Furina’s Deeper Dive In The Tower - Mar 8th

Week 5: Outside the Tower - Mar 15th

Week 8: Farina’s Deeper Dive Outside the Tower Mar 22nd

If anyone wants to volunteer to record a audio or video reading of the section to post, that would be wonderful. It is another experience to listen to it. Any and all additions to add to this masterpiece will be welcome! I am open to conducting a live video chat each week if the demand is there! Send feedback below!
