What is your experience with adoption?

My husband (26M) and I (26F) have a 10 month old baby boy and are wanting to grow our family by one more. (just one more 😁) The topic of adoption has come up in recent weeks and we are both very interested in adopting our second child. Neither of us know much about the adoption process and obviously want to be the best parents we can be to our current and future child. What is your experience with adoption - the good, bad, and unexpected? If you were adopted, what do you wish your adoptive parents had done differently and what did they do well?
