Experiences with the Deutsche Bahn Fundservice
On Friday I was waiting for my train on a 2nd platform, there were no other trains scheduled to arrive on the 2nd platform at that time (according to the Deutsche Bahn app), so I hopped on as soon as one arrived. On the next stop I noticed it was going the opposite direction so I panicked and ran to the exit. The issue is, other than having to wait 40 minutes for the next train in the direction I needed, I forgot my backpack in the wrong train. I filled out the Fundservice form on the DB website ASAP, I was also thinking of going to Frankfurt (the wrong train's endstation) the next day to ask the DB Info about it, but I also had other plans and decided that there's no point since if the DB Info gets it, it'll eventually be passed to the Fundservice. However today I got the automatic email from them saying that they have not yet found my item and I'm now thinking, maybe it's still worth going there and asking the DB Info? Or should I just wait and hope at this point? How likely is it that someone just took my backpack (taking into account that it was going to Krankfurt)? For context, there was no money or papers in the backpack, the only valuable thing there was a 25€ purchase from Kleinanzeigen.
