How to fix the Civ6 with Wine mouse input issue?

Hi, does anyone know how to fix the issue with Civ6 not registering mouse inputs when used with Wine?
Its a popular issue and there are posts about it, but ive not managed to get any steps as to how to actually fix the issue, the best ive gotten is some code that i have no clue what to do with.
