Unable to use write on in paint node (fusion) when using a Wacom

I recently got a Wacom intuos and wanted to use it to draw stuff in the paint node using the stroke. I have changed the tablet settings in the node to my liking. The problem is however, that when I change the duration to 30 under stroke controls (write on as stroke animation) it gets drawn in just one frame. Using the same settings, when I write with my mouse it gets drawn perfectly. Any idea on how to fix this? I’ve been looking far and wide on the internet but no one else seems to have this problem.
