Coworkers not following simple guidelines!
Gonna preface this with I absolutely respect the hell out of my coworkers, especially being an assistant manager because they've saved my ass on days where there's too much going on at once and always give me assistance or advice when I ask, but there's something that's been driving me nuts.
My manager and I recently went through and made guidelines for our apple display, as silly as it sounds, so that we always have a plentiful amount of space for our biggest sellers (honeycrisp, gala, granny smith, fuji, cosmic crisp), while keeping a reasonable amount of our worst ones out there (jazz, jonagold, wild twist) so we have space for our average sellers too. Lately, I'm not quite sure why, but jazz has been filled to the same level as our gala apples (5 rows wide, 3 layers high). Manager and I have talked to everyone, including our mid week closer who we leave notes for, and no one wants to admit to it. It drove both of us nuts.
I went and made a sheet with how wide everything is supposed to be when on sale and at regular price, which helped a lot on every apple, BUT JAZZ! Ultimately, I began writing on the box for jazz apples with how it's supposed to be set up and now the issue no longer persists, as it's now been 3 weeks since the issue last arose. Hopefully it never happens again, but I'm not holding out hope since I know exactly what it's like to be stressed and rushing to get things done on a busy day, which is where it's easiest to forget things.
