Does the length of ownership start over every time you buy the same stock?

In regards to capital gains tax. If I’ve been buying xyz stock incrementally for over a year and it’s shoots to the moon does my ownership length start from the first purchase or the last purchase?

Would I need to wait till a year has lapsed from the last purchase to save if my first purchase is well over a year?
