RMD and several brokerage accounts

I'm required to start taking RMD this tax year. I have several retirement accounts at different brokerages. Can I add up the balance of all accounts and calculate my RMD and take that amount from just one account? Or do I have to do the calculation for each account and take the RMD from each account?
