Back Problems During Period

Ever since had my son two years ago, the week before and week of I get excruciating pain to the side of my tail bone and into my hip. The pain gets so bad that my back goes out (weakness in my legs/can’t stand up from a sitting or laying position). What could be causing this? I know I need to talk to my doctor about it, but the appointment is a few weeks out.
